Empowering Indigenous Youth Through Outdoor Adventure, Team Sports, Leadership, and Legacy
Working on Wellness (WOW) is a 501c3 nonprofit providing Indigenous youth in New Mexico with access to outdoor sports, career development, and mentorship. All programs are rooted in culture, wellness, and purpose.
Charles N. Romero Ski Program
WOW’s flagship winter program gives Taos Pueblo youth access to skiing, snowboarding, and leadership development. Participants can begin a Junior Apprenticeship with the Snowsports department at Taos Ski Valley. This early work experience helps build confidence and job skills. The program honors the legacy of Charles N. Romero and opens new possibilities for Indigenous youth in the outdoor industry.

Through Movement
The Taos Pueblo Sports Alliance offers team registrations for Little League Baseball, Soccer, and Cheer. Registration costs are partially supported by WOW to help keep programs accessible for Taos Pueblo families. Sports seasons are open to all Pueblo youth and bring families together in community celebration.
